The King Multi-Purpose Drum Truck Trolley, also known as the "Drum Major," is a versatile and robust solution designed for handling 200-litre (55-gallon) steel drums without lids or with fixed/bolt-on lids.
This trolley offers three essential functions in one, making it a valuable tool for various drum-related tasks.
Here are the key features and instructions for using the Drum Major:
- Three Functions in One: The Drum Major serves as a Drum Mover, Drum Stand for decanting into pails, and Drum Palletizer for placing and removing drums from pallets.
- Long Handles with Fall-Back, Sprung Axle: The trolley has long handles for extra leverage and a fall-back, sprung axle to handle heavy drums.
- Rim Grabs: The trolley has sliding rim grabs that can be hooked over the top drum rim. Different grab lengths are available to accommodate various drum rim thicknesses.
- Load Capacity: The trolley can handle loads of up to 400 kgs (approximately 900 lbs).
- Zinc-Plated Finish: The trolley is zinc-plated, providing durability and resistance to wear, allowing it to be used outdoors without concerns about paint chips or scratches.
Instructions for Using the Drum Major:
- Loading a Drum: Position the trolley close to the drum. Hook the sliding rim grabs over the top drum rim. Push the drum backward and push the trolley feet under it until it's loaded. Please ensure the drum feet are under the drum to avoid puncturing it.
- Balancing the Drum: Pull the trolley handles down until the drum is balanced on all four wheels. Raise the small wheels slightly off the floor when turning.
- Decanting Contents: Fit a tap to the 50mm bung of the drum. Ensure the bung faces you when loading the drum onto the trolley. Pull the Drum Major handles down to the horizontal position to decant until the axle moves past vertical under spring pressure. Apply the brake (lever down). Place a pail under the tap for decanting.
- Using Internal Wheels: If the drum's position is incorrect for decanting or there's a leak, rotate the drum to another position (remove the rim grabs first).
- Returning to Angled Position: Ensure the brake is on and the rim grabs are over the drum rim. Push the trolley forward, and the front left-hand wheel will lock up, folding the axle back under the trolley. Release the brake at the four or two-wheeled angled position (pull up to horizontal).
- Releasing the Drum: Push the top of the handles into the drum space to release the feet. Remove the drum rim grabs, and the trolley is free of the drum.
- Loading/Unloading from a Pallet: The Drum Major requires a solid fulcrum point. Load by pushing the trolley into the pallet and raising the handles until the drum is on the pallet. To unload, ensure the drum is inside the pallet by 25mm, position the trolley feet, and use pressure from your foot on the lower axle to pull back and place the drum on the trolley.
Warranty: The Drum Major comes with a 3-year warranty on the frame's construction.
